What is Lorem Ipsum?

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Why do we use it?

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using 'Content here, content here', making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for 'lorem ipsum' will uncover many web sites still in their infancy. Various versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (injected humour and the like).

Where does it come from?

Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

The standard chunk of Lorem Ipsum used since the 1500s is reproduced below for those interested. Sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 from "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" by Cicero are also reproduced in their exact original form, accompanied by English versions from the 1914 translation by H. Rackham.

Where can I get some?

There are many variations of passages of Lorem Ipsum available, but the majority have suffered alteration in some form, by injected humour, or randomised words which don't look even slightly believable. If you are going to use a passage of Lorem Ipsum, you need to be sure there isn't anything embarrassing hidden in the middle of text. All the Lorem Ipsum generators on the Internet tend to repeat predefined chunks as necessary, making this the first true generator on the Internet. It uses a dictionary of over 200 Latin words, combined with a handful of model sentence structures, to generate Lorem Ipsum which looks reasonable. The generated Lorem Ipsum is therefore always free from repetition, injected humour, or non-characteristic words etc.

With gratitude to God for a life well spent, the Anyanwu Royal Family announces the passing unto glory of their dearly beloved wife, mother, grandmother and Aunty, Madam Sussana Chienyenwa Anyanwu (Nee Akor), aged 75 years (1946 - 2021).

Finally, the Big Brother Shine Ya Eyes edition, which took off on Saturday July 24, 2021 ended tonight.

Afije Rose Omokhoa popularly known as Liquorose, a 26-year-old professional dancer emerged the first runner up of the reality show.

Here are nine things you probably didn’t know about Liquorose:

1. Liquorose was born in 1995 in Lagos.

2. She hails from Edo State.

3. She attended Del International College, Ijeshatedo, Surulere, Lagos State.

4. She schooled at the University of Lagos.

5. She is the first Housemate in the 2021 big brother Naija show to get N1 million followers on Instagram.

6. She has been active as an entertainer since 2012.

7. She is a member of a dancing group called ‘Girls Gone Bold’ (GCB).

8. Liquorose has featured in Tv series as an actress, she is also a professional video vixen and a dancer.

9. In 2012, BBNaija Liquorose was featured in the popular miniseries ‘The Johnson’s. BBNaija Liquorose also had roles in movies like ‘Hex’ and ‘The OAP’.

She was a married woman without morals. And she paid for it at Sunday's eviction exercise. Gutter-filthy Tega Offiong Dominic-Ajeboh, popularly known as Tega, and the only married female in the Big Brother Naija Show, threw all caution to the winds, and engaged in wild sexual dalliance with fellow housemate Boma. Her wild, sexual escapades with fellow housemate Boma seemed to have caught up with her Sunday when she was booted out of the Big Brother Nigeria house. Boma himself was also ejected from the house. It was indeed good riddance to bad rubbish for both lovers.

A woman of easy virtue, Tega by her filthy sexual activities right in front of national television, epitomized all that is wrong with our society - low morals, low integrity and impunity for decent character. And happily she got the punishment that she deserved from the viewing public - ejection. The Big Brother Nigeria Show is indeed prime entertainment, and contestants show up to impress the viewers and gun for the top prize of N90m. But Tega offended public morality. She turned the show into a podium for scandalous and decadent behavior.

Tega was nominated for possible eviction with fourteen other housemates. She is a 29-year-old business owner and hails from Cross River.

Organisers of BBNaija had announced that Sunday’s eviction will be a ‘Kingsize’ eviction. Earlier in the week, Tega set tongues wagging with a video that went viral which featured her kissing fellow housemate Boma and romping in his bed.

Ronaldo completes Man United medical

Cristiano Ronaldo completed a medical in Lisbon over the weekend ahead of his return to Manchester United and has reportedly agreed personal terms on a two-year contract with the Premier League club, according to Sky Sports.

United said last week they had agreed a deal to re-sign Ronaldo from Juventus after he told the Serie A club he had no intention of staying, but the transfer was still subject to the agreement of personal terms and a medical.

The clubs have yet to confirm the Portugal forward’s transfer. The Premier League’s summer transfer window closes tonight at 2200 GMT.

Sky reported the fee agreed for the 36-year-old Portuguese was around 15 million euros ($17.70 million) plus a further eight million euros in add-ons.

United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was relishing Ronaldo’s return and said on Sunday that the announcement would be made once the paperwork was done.

With the league paused for the international break, Ronaldo is expected to play his first game when United host Newcastle United at old Trafford on Sept. 11.

Ronaldo won eight major trophies at United from 2003-2009, and the Ballon d’Or as the world’s best player in 2008, before sealing a then world record 80 million-pound ($110.1 million) move to Real Madrid.

“FC Barcelona wholeheartedly expresses its gratitude to the player for his contribution to the aggrandisement of the club and wishes him all the very best for the future in his personal and professional life.”

Our Reporter/ THE NATION

The proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has accused President Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya and his Government over alleged role in abduction of its leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and subsequent ‘smuggling’ into Nigeria by security agents.

The group threatened to sue Kenyatta and his ‘partners in crime’ to the International Criminal Court, ICC.

In a statement from the Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, IPOB noted that the Kenyan President, through such act, had demonstrated his affection for the murderous Fulani terrorists ravaging the entire Nigeria killing and maiming indigenous people in their ancestral lands.

It called on Biafrans both home and in the diaspora to boycott travels with Kenya Air Lines, to immediately stop patronising any product made in Kenya; and to boycott any business dealings with Kenyans.

The group also urged its members and the public to disregard what it termed cock and bull story about how and where its leader was arrested, insisting that he was not arrested, but abducted.

The statement read partly, “We the global movement of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) ably led by our great and indomitable leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, express our disappointment with President Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya and his Government over his role in the abduction of our Leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and his subsequent smuggling into Nigeria by the wicked Nigeria security agents.

“Based on our preliminary findings, President Uhuru Kenyatta was very instrumental to the abduction of our Leader in Kenya. The action of Uhuru Kenyatta against Nnamdi Kanu and Biafrans at large is a clear violation of the 1949 Geneva Convention, and United Nations Code.

“We still don’t understand why Uhuru kenyatta and some corrupt officials of his Government would prefer to betray Nnamdi Kanu and Biafrans? Is it because of Nigeria oil money? Is it because of the paltry N100 million bounty placed on Kanu’s head by some Northern charlatans? Why will President Uhuru Kenyetta sell our leader Mazi Nnamdi to the evil hands of Nigerian government?

“It is so shameful that Uhuru kenyatta would belittle himself in a manner he has just done. By this wickedness and grievous sin, Uhuru kenyatta has demonstrated his affection for the murderous Fulani terrorists ravaging the entire Nigeria killing and maming indigenous people in their ancestral lands.

“Uhuru kenyatta and his partners in crime should get ready to meet us at the International Criminal Court, ICC. This act of terror against our Leader, Nnamdi Kanu, a NATO citizen, British citizen with British International Passport and member of other international organizations will not go unpunished.

“As we continue with our investigations into this crime with a view to unmasking all the collaborators, we announce the following interim actions until further notice:

“We call on all Biafrans both home and in the diaspora to boycott travels with Kenya Air Lines; to immediately stop patronising any product made in Kenya; and to boycott any business dealings with Kenyans. We cannot be relating friendly with anyone collaborating with our oppressors to keep us in perpetual slavery!

“We also want to urge all Biafrans and members of the public to disregard all the concocted rubbish the wicked Nigeria Government and their agents have been peddling about how and where our leader was arrested. He was never arrested but abuducted.

“All these cock and bull story is to twist facts and blackmail our selfless leader who they have seen as the major obstacle against their agenda to completely Islamise and Fulani Nigeria. Nobody should believe these lies. They are only intended to demarket our Leader and puncture his global reputation and teeming followership.

“The global family of IPOB reaffirm our unalloyed loyalty, belief and confidence in our leader Nnamdi Kanu. Biafrans are united behind him in his current ordeals in the hands of our oppressors. We also wish to remind the Nigeria Government that nothing should happen to our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.”
