2Face Idiba

2Face Idibia has appealed to the public and his families to sheath their swords in his first statement over the crisis rocking his marriage.

This is following accusations of infidelity by his wife Annie Idibia who subsequently had a heated exchange on social media with 2Face’s younger brother, Charles Idibia.

2Face also known as 2Baba, in his first statement, said he he will not fold his hands and watch everyone have a “free for all” over issues affecting his family.

“I admit that bringing our personal issues on social media was not cool but I will not sit back and watch everyone have a free for all battle here in the name of love or solidarity,” 2Face wrote on his Instagram page.

“None of us is perfect. I will like to urge our families and supporters to stop the madness and the public to please respect our privacy and our kids. Let us deal with our issues internally. I take God beg una.”

Annie Idibia, in a now-deleted Instagram Story post, had accused her husband, 2Face, of infidelity.

“I’m a patient woman, I am not a fool innocent! Your family never loved me from the beginning, no matter how hard I tried. I was never worthy to them. I have made so many sacrifices for you and all your children. God knows I have tried,” she wrote.

Annie Idibia

The actress claimed that 2Face spent nights under the same roof with one of his baby mamas after taking his kids to Disney Land.

“What kind of man takes his kids to Disney and spends nights in the same apartment with his kids and their mother! How many times have you gone to see your kids with Pero and she stays with you and the kids under the same roof for nights?” she claimed.

In the post, Annie urged her husband to do better and also indicted the singer’s manager, Efe. Annie also claimed that Tuface’s baby mamas use his children ‘as an excuse for all sorts of rubbish’.

2Face and Annie Idibia

She wrote, “Your baby mamas constantly use your children as an excuse for all sorts of rubbish! I try to stay gracious!! You’re not the first man on the planet to have kids by different women. You can do better. Everything I do is to show the good human that you are!!! But today, this move by you, Efe, Frankie, and your family is unacceptable.”

Reacting to Annie’s accusations, 2Face’s brother Charles accused the actress of using charm on 2Face among other things.

He wrote:

“You got married into a family of peace lovers …so peaceful that it’s actually an idibia family flaw as I have come to realise. Perhaps this has made you think that we must be fools, but trust me, we are not. You are bringing up a Disney trip that happen pre-covid19 simply because you somehow cannot totally have your way today like you are used to? Trying to paint your husband bad publicly( because he is a very private person).

“Is your threat tool and means of gaining control? …and I thought you were smart, abi dey dealer gave you the wrong dose today? Asking your mum who lives in one of the bedrooms to add more fire to the Juju pot is would have been a smarter move, but as God will have it, you choose today to expose yourself. You better finish what you started this Night, because maybe, just maybe the public might just help us all. Inno is dying slowly, never seen a man so unhappy in real life, but we must all maintain ‘peace’ that has never existed from day one …fuck that shit! ..am done. The idibia family never gave you peace you say, please bring out all the wrong we did to you and post on your page pls, because I have a lot to say, and am going to say it regardless.”

For the sixth Saturday night party, interesting activities went down in the club as well as after the party.

Many viewers rated it as unique as the 17 remaining Housemates, which include the double Heads of House, threw caution to the winds rocking to a double DJ’s expertise behind the wheels of steel.

Here are the six highlights from the party that you might have missed:

1. The Nigerian cultural display

The housemates were thrilled to a culture-themed event. The theme was a massive hit with all the 17 housemates looking regal and astonishing!

However, the Orijin-sponsored party, had many of the outfits inhibiting housemates dance moves. Majority of the female housemates and some of the male housemates were not comfortable on the dance floor in their regalias.

2. Like Double HOH, it’s a Double DJ

Like the twist in the Head Of House game which produced a double Heads Of House for the first time in BBNaija history, two Disc Jockeys performed at the Saturday night party. Away from the traditional beads, wrappers, flowing dresses, the housemates seemed to have been inhibited from showing off some of the dance moves as expected. However, it appeared they had a blast with DJs Dayzee and Shawn on the wheel of steel. As expected, viewers and housemates were not disappointed. From DJ Dayvee’s mid-tempo tracklist to DJ Shawn’s classic hits, the housemates stayed glued to the dance floor till the night was over.

3. A new couple on the dance floor

Before now, it used to be Pere and Maria and then Saga and Nini but for the sixth Saturday night party, Boma and Tega took the centre stage as the new couple on the dance floor. Despite being referred to as the okro geng leader, Boma couldn’t help himself rocking Tega on the dance floor all through the party. As expected, Nini and Saga remained a partying couple. For the better part of the night, the couple also maintained their usual style of keeping their circle tight on the dance floor.

4. Liquorose, Saga, Cross defied clothing inhibition

The cultural clothing inhibition wasn’t enough to stop Liquorose, Saga, and Cross on the dance floor. The outfits were certainly not enough to disrupt the dance queen’s moves as well as the party beast and the resident gym instructor. In the flowing dress, Liquorose lit up the dance floor with her energetic moves and Saga couldn’t help giving the Yoruba demon vibes with his dance moves. Cross won’t be left out as his energy on the dance floor remained a mystery to viewers and fans alike.

5. Whitemoney goes on dance prowl

Call it the eviction blues or just an unusual consumption of Orijin bitters, a lot of the housemates decided to let down their guards. One of the wildly noticed changes was spotted in Whitemoney, who seemed to be on a dancing prowl. The singer and entertainer decided to ignore the kitchen and put some major dents on the dance floor for what might be his last Saturday night party. Whitemoney became electric in his dance moves and many of the housemates marvelled as he owned the stage in his own eclectic dance moves.

6. Cross remained the party beast

Hate it or love it, Cross has crested his name in gold in the history of BBNaija for being the party beast. The richest housemate in the sixth week with over N4million in task winnings didn’t bother about the eviction on Sunday night when he was on the dance floor. At some point, Cross was hopping on Whitemoney’s back and this stunned housemates who wondered where he gets his energy from. Another time, he was jumping all over the place with Emmanuel and Jaypaul as DJ Shawn raised the tempo of the night.

She was a married woman without morals. And she paid for it at Sunday's eviction exercise. Gutter-filthy Tega Offiong Dominic-Ajeboh, popularly known as Tega, and the only married female in the Big Brother Naija Show, threw all caution to the winds, and engaged in wild sexual dalliance with fellow housemate Boma. Her wild, sexual escapades with fellow housemate Boma seemed to have caught up with her Sunday when she was booted out of the Big Brother Nigeria house. Boma himself was also ejected from the house. It was indeed good riddance to bad rubbish for both lovers.

A woman of easy virtue, Tega by her filthy sexual activities right in front of national television, epitomized all that is wrong with our society - low morals, low integrity and impunity for decent character. And happily she got the punishment that she deserved from the viewing public - ejection. The Big Brother Nigeria Show is indeed prime entertainment, and contestants show up to impress the viewers and gun for the top prize of N90m. But Tega offended public morality. She turned the show into a podium for scandalous and decadent behavior.

Tega was nominated for possible eviction with fourteen other housemates. She is a 29-year-old business owner and hails from Cross River.

Organisers of BBNaija had announced that Sunday’s eviction will be a ‘Kingsize’ eviction. Earlier in the week, Tega set tongues wagging with a video that went viral which featured her kissing fellow housemate Boma and romping in his bed.

Ortom sues Akume for N60b over alleged libel

BY Uja Emmanuel/ THE NATION

Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, on Friday instituted a N60 billion suit against the Minister of Special Duties and Inter Governmental Affairs, Senator George Akume, at the Makurdi High Court.

The suit No. MHC/268/2021 was filed by Okon N. Efut, SAN and four other lawyers.

Governor Ortom is seeking N50 billion as general damages for libel and N10 billion as exemplary and aggravated damages.

The writ of summons was backed by 17-paragraph statement of claim.

In the statement of claim, Governor Ortom is seeking a declaration that the text of Senator Akume’s press conference on 30th August, 2021, in Abuja and the reports in various national dailies is scandalous, malicious and injurious to his person.

He complained that the press conference was intended to lower his estimation before right-thinking members of the society and to expose him to hatred, contempt and ridicule.

The Governor is seeking perpetual injunction restraining the defendant by himself or through any agent, servants or privies from similar or further publication of any defamatory statement against him.

Addressing a press conference on behalf of other leaders of the All Progressives Congress in Benue State on Monday, Akume had called on the Federal Government to declare a state of emergency in Benue State, saying that Ortom had lost control of the security situation in the state.

He also condemned what it called the governor’s “penchant for verbally attacking” President Muhammadu Buhari without regard for his age and office.

No date has yet been fixed for the case

Premier League giants Manchester United have, on Friday evening, confirmed when recent addition Cristiano Ronaldo is set to link up with the rest of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad.

CR7 returns

A fine summer all told on the red half of Manchester of course came to a spectacular head this day last week.

As if the high-profile additions of Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane were not enough, those in a position of power at Old Trafford set the world of football alight with their third and final reinforcement to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad.

The player brought in? 5-time Ballon d’Or winner and Reds prodigal son Cristiano Ronaldo.

After the Portuguese made clear his desire to depart Serie A heavyweights Juventus on the back of three seasons in Turin, United swooped decisively for his signature, beating out competition from neighbours Man City.

In turn, Ronaldo put pen to paper on a two-year contract at the Theatre of Dreams, coming full circle on the back of a 12-year spell away from the club.

CR7 latest

Excitement, in turn, has since inevitably begun to spread throughout the Red Devils’ fanbase.

Ronaldo has been tipped to potentially make his 2nd United bow as early as next weekend, when Solskjaer and co. welcome Newcastle United to Old Trafford.

And, if the latest word stemming from the club’s official website is anything to go by, then such a possibility cannot be ruled out.

In a post across their social media platforms on Friday evening, Manchester United revealed a series of photos of their latest addition touching down in Manchester.

The 36-year-old was subsequently greeted by ex-teammate Darren Fletcher in a private airport terminal, before, crucially, an insight into exactly when he is expected to begin training with his new club was forthcoming.

As per the announcement:

‘Cristiano is now preparing to begin training with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side at Carrington next week.’

Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa (rtd), has enjoined members of the National Assembly not to support to move to legalise cannabis, cautioning that members who vote for it might not be able to return to their constituencies.

Marwa made the submission yesterday while fielding questions from newsmen after he met with President Muhammadu Buhari at the State House, Abuja.

The former military administrator of Lagos said the World Health Organisation (WHO) has confirmed the dangers of cannabis to the brain, disclosing that Nigeria was the highest consumer of the substance globally.

Vowing that Nigeria would not submit to the push for its legalisation, Marwa said: “Now, the WHO itself has declared that cannabis affects the brain, alters brain function. It destabilises and affects behaviour. It also affects body organs, and at some point, it can lead to death.

“So, while we appreciate those who want to legalise it for financial gains, we have to be careful to reconcile it with life. So, it’s money versus life. And up to this point, science has not developed up to the point where it can remove the THC in cannabis to zero.

“Therefore, cannabis is harmful to our health; it is a danger to society. We must never allow its legalisation. What’s more, Nigeria has 10.6 million cannabis users; this is the highest in the world. Isn’t it sad?

“We should be the highest in science, technology, mathematics, physics and not highest in cannabis. That is something we need.

“We can never support legalisation and I don’t see how the National Assembly would pass the bill because I know 90 per cent or more of the honourable and distinguished members of the National Assembly know the implications of this legalisation. They dare not go back to their constituencies if anyone signs legalisation because we are seeing the implication on the ground. The youth, the families are being destroyed because of cannabis and drugs. It wouldn’t be legalised by the grace of God.”

Marwa, who revealed that he has received constant death threats from criminals in the course of his assignment, said he was not concerned even though he takes precautions.

Specifically, on the threats, he quipped: “Severally! It’s almost a daily occurrence because my phone number is open. Equally, messages come through family, through colleagues, and sometimes people at random whom we don’t know but I live in the territory. That said, we also take precautions.”

The NDLEA boss said he was at that presidential villa to brief President Buhari on the recent activities of the agency, especially the move to construct barracks for personnel of the agency, saying he received a positive response from the president on the initiative.

He added: “We have, as you know, personnel in the 36 states of the federation and FCT. Therefore, we expect barracks in all the locations. The budgetary provision is something that I will not comment on at this point.

“Well, the President told us well done. And that well done does not go to Gen. Marwa but the NDLEA officers and men. And if there’s a secret behind it, we thank the Almighty God for the successes recorded so far, and also to the gallant and professional officers and men of the NDLEA who have remained upstanding.”

BBNaija Shine Ya Eye: Recap of week six

BY Gbenga Bada / THE NATION

Big Brother Naija Shine Ya Eye entered its sixth week on Sunday, August 29 with 17 housemates.

JMK, Sammie and surprisingly Maria were evicted hours before.

Here is a quick recap of the sixth week of the show:

Double Heads of House emerge

Big Brother left viewers, fans and housemates stunned when two Heads Of House emerged on Monday, August 30 during the sixth HOG games.

Big Brother announced to the housemates, in a twist to the show, that not one but two Heads of House will emerge after the game.

The game saw Boma, Tega, Jaypaul, Jackie B finishing the game in quick time but Jackie B and Jaypaul emerged winners after concluding the game in record time.

The double reign would see a total of 11 Heads of House for this season instead of the expected 10 Heads of House.

Jaypaul and Jackie B were also treated to a movie treat by Big Brother and the double Heads of House enjoyed the night with their partners, Saskay and Michael, respectively in the executive lounge.

Friendships turn sour

Week six didn’t go without some dramas, including the altercation between one-time good friends now sworn enemies, Boma and Angel.

For a total of 35 days – five weeks – all was well between Boma, a one time HOH and DHOH, and Angel.

However, on day 39, Thursday, September 2, 2021, the friendship that once blossomed came crashing down over an allegation of kiss and tell.

In week four, Angel and Boma were locked in the executive lounge where they discussed life outside the house and allegedly engaged in some sexual activities.

Boma flipped on Thursday night claiming Angel was telling everyone about his secrets, leading to a heated argument that saw them cursing out with Angel clearly stating she doesn’t want to have anything to do with Boma ever again.

More winnings

The winning rain continued falling on the remaining 17 housemates in the house.

With more brands joining the naira rain on the Housemates, at least 10 of the housemates added more winnings to their current winning pots.

Also, some others like Emmanuel, Peace and others won different sums of BB Tokens and Abeg Naira.

Tega in the eye of storm

Week six placed Tega in the eye of the storm.

Tega had kissed a housemate during the Truth or Dare game to raise eyebrows in the house.

More likely yet to get over the perception, she had allowed Boma to finger her private leading Pere to ask how it smells.

The activities led to viewers and fans airing their views about Tega’s actions.

It was also rumoured that Boma engaged in some sexual activities with Tega under the sheets since he started sleeping in her bed all in the sixth week.

So bad was the week for Tega that she became speechless at some point in her diary session on Friday, September 3, 2021 and began crying.

She was consoled by Big Brother but later shrugged it off.

Kingsize eviction

On Friday, the show organisers announced another twist.

Already, 15 Housemates are up for possible eviction ahead of the sixth Sunday live eviction show.

Jaypaul and Jackie B, who are the double Heads of House, have escaped the eviction, which has been tagged kingsize.
